Abygail Gutierrez

Abygail Gutierrez is currently an undergraduate at the University of New Mexico and a student researcher for the Center of Regional Studies’ project on the impacts of COVID-19 and human-caused climate change on New Mexico communities. Her work and research revolve around the migrant experience, specifically that of Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander descent. Currently a McNair scholar, her current research project is entitled “Being ‘American’: How Filipinos Constructed and Were Constructed by America.” She is an advocate for migrants, myths, and culture. Her piece is titled “Pasalubong.”
