Jasmine Poblano

Jasmine Poblano is a first-generation Xicana graduate student in the Chican@ Studies Department at the University of New Mexico. Having lived across the United States as a military child, Jasmine has called many places home. She currently resides in Colorado where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Latinx Studies & History from the University of Northern Colorado. During her undergraduate years, Jasmine completed two research projects that focused on Chicana-led student movements and Chican@ oral histories/ archival material. Currently, Jasmine is working on research sponsored by Dr. Michelle Hall Kells for the Translingual Literacy Hub where she collects and curates biographical content. In her free time, Jasmine creates educational content centering around Chican@ history & theory through various social media platforms. Her most popular video has been circulated by media like Disney & Good Morning America and has surpassed 1.2M views.
